Payments and Insurance
CAREFIRST BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD
At this time, we do have in-network providers with Carefirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield (the Federal, local, plans purchased through the Exchanges, and most national Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans are accepted). If we are in-network with these plans, these insurance plans pay us directly, and members are responsible for their copay/coinsurance and any deductible they may have to pay at the time of service. *Please see our client "Contract for Services" which details payment obligations and includes a statement that if your plan does not cover your session for any reason, you are responsible for your session fees.* If you have a health insurance plan, it is also your responsibility to be aware of what your plan does and does not cover.
We are "out-of-network" providers for most other health insurance plans (plans such as Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, etc), and our clients typically receive 50-75% of their session fee through reimbursement. We can provide a detailed monthly statement for you to receive insurance reimbursements, or for your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Spending Account (HSA) plans.
All clinicians accept cash and checks. *Some of our clinicians accept Paypal, credit cards via Square, and FSA/HSA cards for payment. Please ask before scheduling, which forms of payment that your particular clinician accepts. It is expected that clients pay for their session at the time services are rendered. We are willing to work with you if you request special payment arrangements.
We can offer sliding scale or reduced fees for clients who may qualify based on their circumstances and income. We can also provide referrals for pro-bono and low cost clinics in the metropolitan DC area. Please contact us for more information.
